Getting here by plane

• Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel airport is served by most major airlines. There are two ways of getting to Lübeck from the airport:
  • Take the Jasper Airport Express bus to Hamburg central station (Hamburg Hauptbahnhof), then take a train to Lübeck central station (Lübeck Hauptbahnhof) from there. For train schedules, see this site. Bus tickets can be bought on the bus, train tickets are available at the station (no need to pre-book).
  • Traveliner is a direct bus connection from Hamburg airport to Lübeck, but it only runs about once every two hours (the schedule is only available in German but should be pretty self-explanatory). The bus stop is in bus stop area C between Terminals 1 and 2. Tickets can be bought on the bus.
• Lübeck's own airport (Lübeck-Blankensee) is served by Ryanair. Take a number 6 bus to get to the city centre.

Note: We no longer recommend the "Etap" hotel because of its inconvenient location for BIP 2005's city centre venue; the venue had not been decided when we made the original recommendation. We apologize to any participants who may already have made reservations at the hotel but recommend that you change to one of the other hotels.
