VORTRAG Sören Krach / Frieder Paulus:

"Integrating Pupillometry and fMRI to Investigate Social Emotions"

A great share of the human emotional experience is rooted in the affective ties with the social environment. Many emotions can be experienced vicariously by just observing another person’s suffering and are interpersonal in nature such as embarrassment. In this talk I will briefly summarize some of our recent studies on the neural foundations of interpersonal emotions and will present data that links the response of the pupil to affect and neural activation in arousal processing brain systems.
